Commissions
Commissioning a painting is a meaningful experience and a chance to create something completely personal. An art commission allows us to work together to turn your ideas, memories or favourite places into a painting that feels unique to you. I love the collaborative nature of this process and I take great care in bringing your vision to life through my expressive Scottish landscape style.
Whether you want a painting inspired by the Highlands, a calm seascape, a favourite beach or a landscape filled with personal significance, I would be delighted to create a piece that holds meaning for you.

How It Works When You Commission an Artist
Step 1: Your Idea
You can share anything that feels like a starting point. This may be a location, a memory, a photograph or a feeling you want the artwork to capture. I will help guide the direction of the painting.
Step 2: Size & Style
We choose the size, palette and overall mood together. I create work that focuses on atmosphere, light and emotion, and I can work from your photos or a landscape that is special to you.
Step 3: Creating The Painting
I begin the artwork and keep you updated as it develops. My process is intuitive and expressive, with a focus on movement and connection to place.
Step 4: Final Review
I share images of the completed artwork so you can request small refinements before framing and delivery.
What You Can Commission
Each art commission is created with care and attention so the final piece reflects your story and your connection to the landscape.

Susie Collingbourne’s work explores the relationship between landscape and memory, horizons and emotion. She is drawn to the creative exploration of dramatic weather and scenery, capturing the beauty of a glimpse of sunlight through a dark cloud, or a golden reflection on deep, distant water. Susie paints where she loves to be: the Scottish outdoors with its mountains, lochs, beaches, and thunderous skies. Her painting style is instinctive and loose, predominantly using acrylic paint on canvas, often with the addition of gold leaf.
She studied English Literature and Language at university before working in publishing in Edinburgh and London. Susie is drawn to art for the same reasons she loves books: escapism, imagination, and a sense of shared connection.
A lifelong dream of becoming a professional artist was realised after completing four years of courses at Leith School of Art, where she honed her style of abstract landscape painting and connected with a community of fellow artists. She has exhibited at galleries throughout Scotland and sold her work, including commissioned paintings, across the UK and overseas.
