A Break in the Clouds

I was inspired to paint this after a trip to Bellhaven Beach in East Lothian, the morning after a ferocious storm. The sand was strewn with bits of driftwood, lobster claws and smashed urchin shells and the weather hadn’t yet realigned itself: bright sunlight one minute, thunderous skies overhead the next. I loved it!
