Haar Light

It took me until today to realise that “Haar” is a word unique to Edinburgh and the south east coast of Scotland. How do other English speakers describe a cold sea fog that creeps inland?

Either way, this painting is very much inspired by a haar, trying to encroach over an East Lothian beach, but being beaten back by the strength of the summer sun.
