Where the Wind Takes You

There are places in Orkney where the wind doesn’t just blow, it takes things. Hats, thoughts, any sense that the world beyond this stretch of sand still exists. This painting began there, on a beach so remote it felt like standing at the very edge of the earth, where sky and sea conspire and the land curves away into nothing.

The golden sand, the bruised and shifting clouds, the thin line of light burning at the horizon, all of it caught in a moment that felt both wild and strangely still. A place that gets under your skin.
